The department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques is characterized by a strong cultural identity with, to the east of the department, the Béarnaise culture, and to the west the Basque Country. The department is a territory with diverse histories, languages and cultural expressions: Basque and Occitan languages, literature, theatre, dance, traditional and contemporary music, cinema, visual arts, etc.

It is in this context that LUCAS (Laboratoire d’usages culture(s) – arts – société) intervened, in order to design the new SDEA in a logic of co-production with the actors of the territory. Different co-design sessions were organized (ecosystem workshop, immersions, workshop conference, co-design workshop, etc.), in order to allow the actors to meet, cooperate and contribute within the framework of convivial times.
